                Achieving Excellence Together

Welcome to the Special Services Department website.  It is the vision of the Department that all students be able to effectively and successfully participate in learning experiences within our schools. To that end, the Department seeks to actively collaborate with educators, parents and caregivers, students, community agencies, and city departments to improve supports, services, and outcomes for students.

This school year the Westfield School District is participating in the Family Engagement Survey from October 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018.This survey is designed to collect information from parents of students with an IEP only. The purpose of the survey is to reflect parent feedback on how well the schools are engaging and partnering with parents of students with disabilities. Results of the survey are provided to the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

The survey is available at:
http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/3792854/Family-Engagement-Survey-2017-2018.  The web-based survey is also accessible through mobile devices. Electronic results will be sent to the DESE once each survey is marked complete by the respondent. For parents who do not have access to web-based tools for completing the survey, the district will use the paper versions of the survey. Paper versions are available in the main office of each school and at the school department central office at 94 N. Elm St. Completed paper forms must returned to the district so that results can be submitted to DESE no later than July 6, 2018. Thank you for participating!
