St. Mary's Elementary

St. Mary's Elementary School has a Targeted Assistance Title 1 program. This means the program services a portion of the student population -- those identified as most at risk of failing to meet grade level objectives--rather than for overall school improvement, as in schoolwide programs. Students are chosen for services based on teacher recommendations.  Although the amount of money each school receives for Title 1 programs is based on the number of low-income students attending the school, once a school qualifies for funds academic need, not economic status, determines which students receive services.
