The City of Westfield

Westfield is situated in the foothills of the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts and is located 99 miles west of Boston, 85 miles east of Albany and 35 miles north of Hartford. Westfield has the second largest land area in Massachusetts, 47 square miles. The city is the center of one of the most diverse economic bases in Massachusetts. Heavy manufacturing, high technology, professional services, mercantile enterprises, and the local airport all contribute to a vitality which is enhanced by the location within the city of Westfield State College.

City Hall

The city is managed by a Mayor- Council form of government with the responsibility for the schools entrusted to a seven-member, elected School Committee. The citizens of Westfield are deeply concerned about the quality of life and are striving to achieve both balanced growth and the best of true New England living. This spirit has brought people to the city who take an active interest in local government and who have consistently supported quality education.
