After a year of preparation, students in Westfield Promise, the early college program of Westfield High School and Westfield State University, hosted a grand opening on Oct. 22 of the “Path to Healing” labyrinth they designed and constructed in the front of the high school, outside of the gymnasium entrance.
The idea first came to their English teacher Kristen Biancuzzo after hearing from adjustment counselor Carrie Hildreth-Fiordalice about a trip she had taken to a Buddhist monastery in the area. Biancuzzo thought the labyrinth might help people.
