School Superintendent Stefan Czaporowski has announced the hiring of two new elementary school principals for the district.

Alexandra Clines has accepted the position of principal of the Munger Hill Elementary School, and Erika Masciadrelli, technology supervisor in Westfield, has accepted the position as the Abner Gibbs Elementary School principal.

“Ms. Masciadrelli is a positive and hard-working person who truly cares about the students and staff that she will serve,” Czaporowski said.

Czaporowski said he was impressed with Clines’ experience and dedication to teaching and learning.

Clines has worked in the Springfield public schools as a building administrator for the past 10 years. In 2002, she began her public education career in the Hampden-Wilbraham Regional School District as substitute teacher, moving into a permanent role in 2004 as a technology teacher. She holds degrees from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and the College of Our Lady of the Elms and earned her certificate of advanced graduate studies from American International College.

Masciadrelli has worked in the Westfield schools since 2001, holding the positions of math teacher, math coach, and most recently supervisor of technology. Masciadrelli earned her undergraduate degree from Russell Sage College and her graduate degree from Fitchburg State College.

Alexandra Clines, who lives in Hampden, will begin her new position on Aug. 16. She said she is very excited to be joining the Westfield team and is looking forward to meeting the community in the next few weeks.

“Westfield has a terrific school system, and Superintendent Stefan Czaporowski is a talented leader. I’m looking forward to becoming a part of this amazing team,” Clines said.

Masciadrelli, who lives in Westfield, will begin her new position on Oct. 3, and said she is thrilled to work in a new capacity within the district.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Abner Gibbs community and leading this dynamic group of educators. I cannot wait for the 2022-23 school year to begin, to meet all of the children, and be a part of the magic that happens at Abner,” Masciadrelli said.
