Highland Elementary School

Many thanks to Al Lieb, Eric VanOostveen, and the staff at Otis Ridge for implementing a fabulous Adopt a Classroom project at the mountain this week! Otis Ridge has developed a strong partnership with Highland School. Second grade students visited the mountain where they visited stations at the lodge, the pump house, the ski lifts, the restaurant, and the ski shop. Students learned about snow production; ski and snowboard maintenance; and the many aspects of running a hospitality business. Students also had a blast playing in the snow! Adopt a Classroom, an initiative of Westfield Education to Business Alliance, helps students to make connections between what they are learning in the classroom to the world beyond.
