P-EBT

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act established the option for states to administer Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) benefits. As part of the plan for P-EBT benefits for School Year (SY) 2022-2023, children who enrolled in virtual schools or began homeschooling in response to the COVID health emergency are able to apply for P-EBT benefits.

The Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) has made enhancements to their current P-EBT website to allow families of students enrolled in home-school and virtual schools to apply for P-EBT benefits. This will mark the first time these students are eligible to receive P-EBT benefits.  The application portal will be available from Friday August 25th, 2023, to Saturday September 30th, 2023. Families can visit https://www.map-ebt.org/virtual-school to complete the application process.

To be eligible for SY 22-23 P-EBT benefits for Home-Schooled or Virtual Learners, the applicant must have:

  • been enrolled in fully virtual institutions or began homeschooling after January 27, 2020, in response to COVID-19; and
  • met the income eligibility requirement to have received free or reduced priced     meals for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). Please see the income guidelines for SY22-23 listed below.
