MCAS 2023

On Tuesday, March 28 and Wednesday, March 29, all Grade 10 students will be taking the English Language Arts portion of the state required MCAS. In Massachusetts, all students must pass their high school MCAS exams in order to receive a high school diploma.

On March 28 and 29, students in Grade 10 should arrive at school no later than 7:15 a.m. as testing will begin promptly at 7:30 a.m. In order to provide a secure testing environment, students in grades 9, 11, and 12 will have a three-hour delayed start and should plan to arrive at school for 10:15 a.m. However, our buses will run at regular time. Students in grades 9, 11, and 12 that arrive to school before 10:15 a.m. should report to the cafeteria for a directed study.

We realize that MCAS testing can be very stressful for students. In preparation, students are encouraged to eat a good breakfast, get at least 8 hours of sleep, and try their best on this exam. Please note that breakfast will be available in the cafeteria before school, as usual. Students also need to make sure that their Chromebooks are fully charged for testing purposes.

If you have any questions or concerns about this year's MCAS testing, please do not hesitate to call me directly at 413-572-6533 or email me at s.czaporowski@schoolsofwestfield.org.

Sincerely,

Stefan Czaporowski
