MCAS

On Tuesday, June 6 and Wednesday, June 7, all Grade 9 students will be taking the Science portion of the state required MCAS. In Massachusetts, all students must pass their high school MCAS exams to receive a high school diploma.

On June 6 and 7, students in Grade 9 should arrive at school no later than 7:15 a.m. as testing will begin promptly at 7:30 a.m. To provide a secure testing environment, students in grades 10 and 11 will have a two-hour delayed start and should plan to arrive at school at 9:15 a.m. However, our buses will run at regular times. Students in grades 10 and 11 that arrive at school before 9:15 a.m. should report to the cafeteria for a directed study.

We realize that MCAS testing can be very stressful for students. In preparation, students are encouraged to eat a good breakfast, get at least 8 hours of sleep, and try their best on this exam. Please note that breakfast will be available in the cafeteria before school, as usual. Students also need to make sure that their Chromebooks are fully charged for testing purposes.

If you have any questions or concerns about this year's MCAS testing, please do not hesitate to call me directly at 413-572-6533 or email me at s.czaporowski@schoolsofwestfield.org.
