Hello WTA Family!

Well, it’s May, which means were officially in the home stretch of the 2020-2021 School Year!

As you may know, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education adjusted the statewide testing schedule and has moved all ELA and Math Testing to this month. To that end, we will observe the following testing schedule for all Grade 10 Students

ELA: Tuesday, May 18, and Wednesday, May 19
Math: Thursday, May 20, and Friday, May 21
Make-ups: Week of May 24
Grades 9, 11, and 12 will observe a three (3) hour delay May 18 through 21. Students who need to take the bus will be held in the cafeteria or the gymnasium with appropriate social distancing until the end of the testing session each morning.

While none of us want our sophomores to become overly anxious about testing, it is still extremely important to remind them that successful completion of the MCAS is, in fact, a graduation requirement in Massachusetts. You can help us ensure your children’s success by making sure they

Come to school on time each day of the testing window;
Get at least eight hours of sleep each night;
Eat a nourishing breakfast each morning;
And—most importantly—know you believe they can and will do their best on the test.

If you have any questions and/or concerns about this year’s MCAS Testing, please don’t hesitate to call me at (413) 572-6533 or email me at j.langone@schoolsofwestfield.org.

As always, please know how grateful I am for all that you do on behalf of WTA!

Regards,
Joe Langone
