Representatives of the Knights of Columbus, Whip City Council 100, met with Superintendent Stefan Czaporowski and Principal Gregory Miller of the Westfield Intermediate School on April 24 to donate to fifth graders 340 copies of “Our Country’s Flag,” an educational comic book published by the American Legion.
Bob Goyette, chancellor for the Westfield-based council, said the story in the book is about four friends who were inspired by the flag, and grew up to lead different lives as a teacher, congresswoman, police officer and Army nurse.
