For the third year in a row, computer science students from Westfield Middle School visited the Westfield Gas & Electric Operations Center on Nov. 1 and 3 for STEM Week to learn about the different trades available at the municipal utility, and how the internet works.
“At a time when computer science affects so many things about how we work and live, these students are learning to become creators of the technology around them,” said Lisa Stowe, marketing and community outreach manager for the municipal utility.
