School Counseling Week

National School Counseling Week (February 7-11), sponsored by the American School Counselor Association, highlights the tremendous impact school counselors have on helping students achieve academic success and plan for their future careers.

School counselors are actively engaged in helping students focus on positive ways to enhance their academic, career and social/emotional development. They work with teachers and other educators to provide an educational system where students can realize their potential and set healthy and realistic aspirations for themselves. School counselors are certified, experienced educators with a master’s degree in school counseling. The combination of their training and experience makes them an integral part of the total educational program.

As part of the National School Counseling Week, Westfield Public Schools would like to acknowledge our highly qualified counseling staff and applaud the many programs that support students from Prek-12.
