WHS Culinary

Ekaterina Nesmelova, a graduate of the Westfield Technical Academy’s culinary arts program and Johnson and Wales University, is in her second year teaching Culinary Arts I and II and Hospitality at Westfield High School, and loving it.

On March 31, students in Culinary II were making pasta dough to cut into shapes the next day. Nesmelova said the students were making the recipe for “Italian Week,” and would be choosing from 28 different shapes which they had seen prepared on a video, such as bowties, fettuccini, and spaghetti, that they will then cook and compare to store-bought pasta.
