Massachusetts is only 1 of 5 states where all returning students can receive breakfast and lunch without the barriers of cost or stigma. In 2019, less than half of students ate school lunch, but last year around 60% did so because of improved access. Over 53,000 additional students ate lunch daily in March 2022, than in March 2019.
