Stefan Czaporowski, Superintendent of Schools, is pleased to announce that Jesse McMillan has accepted the position of the Westfield Middle School Principal.  Superintendent Czaporowski stated that “Mr. McMillan is a positive and hard-working person who truly cares about the students and staff that he will serve.” He added, “I was impressed with Mr. McMillan’s prioritization of building relationships within the school and community”.

Mr. McMillan started his career as an English teacher at Hoosac Valley High School.  He then taught at Reid Middle School in Pittsfield for years before moving into school administration at New Hingham Elementary School where he has served as principal since 2018.  He has also served as a member of the Hampshire Regional School District’s School Committee.

Jesse is a 2014 graduate of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts where he majored in education as an undergrad, he then graduated with a master’s degree in education in 2017, and is a 2018 alum of Leadership Academy, which prepares educators to become effective school administrators.

Mr. McMillan will begin his new position on December 19, 2022.  He is eager to get started and said, “As a former middle school teacher, I am elated and honored for the opportunity to return to the secondary setting as Westfield Middle School's next leader. It is evident that there is a strong sense of community, a collaborative team, and an environment where meeting students' needs are always at the forefront. As I transition into Westfield, I look forward to meeting with students, staff, caregivers, and community stakeholders to learn more about strengths, traditions, and areas of growth”.
